“Kim Snyder gives ’soul’ a whole new meaning. Her smoky voice shines through and melts in your ears and delivers a whole new attitude.”
From the age of four, Kim Snyder was traveling and singing harmonies with her two sisters in a family trio. It was a dream come true when at sixteen she was invited to become a regular paid studio vocalist, performing backup on albums and lead vocals on jingles. But it was her love for digging deep into a melody that drew her beyond muzak to real music; to jazz and blues. With influences including the legendary Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James and Diana Krall, Kim has found a home for her love of unlocking the vocal possibilities of a melody.
Kim’s versatile voice has been highlighted on projects for Anderson Erickson and The Kansas City Royals. She has performed for over half a million people at the city wide, nationally televised Kansas City Plaza Lighting Ceremony, has headlined at national conventions and lit up the main stage at music festivals such as Atlanta Fest and Rock the Light. But it has been the small time gigs that have given her the chance to explore and develop her unique style.
It was that style, grounded firmly in her gospel roots that drew the attention of Rock Foundation Records in 2001. After hearing Kim’s 3 song EP, she was signed to write, sing and arrange the 11 song original album ‘Day by Day’. The album was well received and opened doors to open for national recording artists Superchic[k] and Sonic Flood.
Kim has been making a living with her voice since that first day in the studio. As an AFTRA voice talent, she has been the voice of Sprint PCS phones, the corporate voice of Hallmark and the NFL. She is also a trained audio producer in her own right, working for commercial production studios as well as two national radio networks.
A big believer in working hard to develop what you’ve got, Kim Snyder has followed in the footsteps of musical legends like Natalie Cole, Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Josh Groban and literally hundreds of others, developing her four octave range alongside Speech Level Singing master instructors. Today, Kim is a voice instructor herself as well as a performer, producer and the voice of clients around the world. and has played lead actress on Unsolved Mysteries.
